Vandanam. – Vrindavan Das Thakur, the biographer, the Chaitanya-lila Vyas. – 48 years of Mahaprabhu’s manifested pastimes. First 24 years: childhood, teaching, married life. At 24 – sannyas. 6 years – travelling, 6 years – Ratha-yatra pastimes. Last 12 years – in the gambhira, behind closed doors, plunging the depth of radha-bhav with Swarup Damodar and Ramananda Ray. – Nitya-lila: if one Sun, a material object, can be seen simultaneously rising, setting, etc., then what to speak of the pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. – Mahaprabhu shows by His own example: “It’s good for Me also – to be a devotee of Krishna.” – He descended to relish the position of the devotee. – It’s Radharani’s golden radiance of the heart that converted Shyama Sundar Krishna into Gauranga Mahaprabhu. – Union in separation. 2 zenith points: Kurukshetra – Ratha-yatra and Uddhava-darshan – Gambhira. – By the grace of our Guru-varga we are brought into connection with these divine things. – The search is the essence. – Mahaprabhu sees Jagannath as Vrindavan Kishna, Jaggannath is transformed, in a sense, by His Heart: the Lord reciprocated the heart of the devotee. – Krishna never leaves Vrindavan. And Vrindavan is the same with Radharani’s heart. – When Mahaprabhu sees Jagannath, He faints to this world and Vasudev Sarvabhauma takes Him to his house. – Sarvabhauma, out of parental concern, wants to teach Vedanta to Mahapraprabhu. – Hidden avatar. - There would be no Krishna consciousness movement if not for Mahaprabhu. – Mahaprabhu with His associates is at war with Maya – that which destructs us from Krishna. – 10 million Cupids would faint to see the beauty of Mahaprabhu. – The Lord reveals Himself to whom He chooses through whom He chooses, by His mercy. – Without a drop of mercy you cannot appreciate it. It transcends intellect. – To the degree you offer yourself to Krishna, He reciprocates. It’s not enough in the case of braja-gopis, so Krishna has to descend and tell this world about their glories. - Krishna-astami + Radha-astami = Purnima.
