  • Real Love is Devotion | Sri Gaura Purnima

Krishna-Chaitanya movement. – Krishna wants to experience what His best devotee, Srimati Radharani, feels. – Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita: in first person, from Krishna we hear what He wants. – The majestic aspect prevents the heart from its natural flow of love and affection. – Devotion is the defeat of the Infinite by the finite. Real love is devotion. – How Krishna feels? – If Krishna’s majestic aspect blocks the flow of heart that He considers valuable, He’s disappointed. – Krishna wants to become like His beloved to experience what She experiences. – “Prema-dhama-deva-stotram”: the ultimate Reality must be dancing.  – Taking the name of Krishna in the mood of Radharani. – Circular cause and effect of Mahaprabhu’s taking Krishna-nam. – Like someone who is Krishna conscious: Srila Prabhupada and Allen Ginsberg. – LSD question. – Childhood of Nimai: playing like a naughty divinity. – Nimai Pandit teaches basics of Sanskrit: aprakrita-lila. – By the mercy of the devotees Nimai Pandit became a devotee, too. – Gradual movement from yuga-avatar to Radha-bhav. – The Infinite disguised as finite: “Krish-na.” – “Search for Sri Krishna, Reality the Beautiful”: how the book was presented to Srila Sridhar Maharaja right on Gaura Purnima. – The Supreme Realty dancing, taking Krishna-nam and distributing Krishna-nam to everyone in ecstasy. – Sridhar Maharaja liked “Emona Durmati” sung by Govinda Maharaja. – When Guru Maharaja is dancing. – Math tradition to sing the verses from Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita on Gaura-purnima.

How He appears? – Age after age. It’s so beautiful, so kind: coming in many different forms to charm us, to capture our attention that we’ll redirect ourselves toward the Lord of Love. But what about Him, His side? – That we don’t hear, except, really, in Chaitanya-lila.

The whole animation, every living being is either directly searching for Krishna or indirectly searching. Indirectly – they’re giving it so many other names: “entertaining” – so many substitutes. But really – it’s either directly or indirectly the search for Sri Krishna, Reality the Beautiful, Sweetness Personified.

At a certain point, the King gets off the throne, takes off the crown, puts down the scepter – that we want to know: what is the private life of divinity.

What is the voltage in the Krishna-nam of Srimati Radharani? – That’s inconceivable. But with that voltage of Krishna-nam Mahaprabhu is taking the name of Krishna and He’s unable to contain the joy that It’s producing.

If you can say “Krishna” with love and affection – that is perfection.

You can only become a devotee of Krishna by the well-wishes and the mercy of the other devotees.

Prabhupad [Swami Maharaja] said, it’s all a devotee needs: a little prasad, a place to stay and some seva. And “Krishna-Krishna”…

That’s kind of the way Krishna consciousness operates: you’re anticipating something, but you can’t say for sure that that’s going to be the outcome. So we are just happy to be involved.
